Saffron is a ribbed sisal in a bright golden yellow, the boldest colour we carry. It is not a neutral and does not pretend to be: in the right room it warms everything above it, and in the wrong one it will dominate. Best in rooms with plenty of natural light and restrained walls. Sisal, seagrass, jute and wool are natural fibres, and the yarn is not uniform the way a synthetic yarn is. Striations in the colour, irregularities in the weave and joining knots (particularly in jute) are inherent characteristics of these products, not manufacturing faults. The carpet is also woven under tension and cut along the warp or weft, so it will not be perfectly straight.
