Amatola is a mid grey-brown with a warm undertone and weathered graining — a mature, lived-in colour rather than a bright new-timber look. On the narrower 187mm plank the floor shows more joins, which suits the rustic character.
Mid tones like this are the most practical to live with: they don't show dust like a dark floor or every scuff like a pale one, and marks disappear into the graining. That makes Amatola a sensible choice for bedrooms, studies and secondary rooms.
It's built to a lighter specification than the rest of the range — 2mm with a 0.2mm wear layer and a 10-year residential warranty. That's the trade for the price. For a spare room, a flat or a rental it's a sound choice; for a busy family hallway, the thicker constructions will last considerably longer.
